Course Descriptions:

Kindermusik Family & Friends/Pet Parade (for children 2-4 years with adult)

The first 4 weeks our focus will be on Family & Friends. We will sing, dance, move, and play our way through this celebration of why family and friends matter so much. We’ll develop our social skills as we do the Please and Thank You dance, practice shaking hands, play instruments together, sing I Love My Family, and more.

During the last 4 weeks our focus will shift to include the family pets.  We'll join in some pet-themed fun as we sing, dance, play instruments, and share our experiences of the animals (real or stuffed!)  that bring love and laughter into our lives. We’ll gallop like horses, scamper like mice, and fly like birds as we develop our motor skills, vocabulary, recall, imagination, and so much more. Get ready to meow, neigh, woof, and squeak along as we all join in the Pet Parade!

Camille Saint-Saens’ Carnival of the Animals (for children 4-7 years with adult)

With the Carnival of the Animals by Saint Saens as a jumping off point, we will use songs, fingerplays, stories, listening and moving activities to explore many musical concepts, such as long and short sounds with the lions and roosters, fast and slow with the donkeys and tortoises, heavy and light movement with the elephants and kangaroos, and much more.  Along the way we will learn simple melody and rhythm patterns, sound discrimination, and graphic notation.  We'll move like the animals, swim with the fish, and sing with the birds!
