Whether you’re a seasoned tunesmith or just beginning to create your own music, this brand-new course is for you! In Popular Songwriting, students will explore the foundations of songwriting technique (form, chord progressions, lyric-writing, arranging and music production) and develop their skills as songwriters. At the end of the class, students will present a class concert of their original songs.

This course focuses on contemporary, mass-market popular songwriting in a variety of styles. All experience levels and stylistic interests are welcome, but students must be able to accompany themselves on guitar, piano, ukulele, or other suitable harmonizing instrument.

*A down-payment of $200 is required to reserved placement.  One of our CMS staff will contact you after we've received your online registration form with your Webster University email and ID number, payment instructions, and other important information.
