The Chinese Bridge Summer Camp is an exciting two-week trip to China that offers college and high school students a unique chance to experience China on a personal level. Campers will have intensive but fun language study, as well as a wide range of cultural experiences, such as Chinese martial arts, calligraphy, brush painting, paper cutting, and Chinese music and arts appreciation workshops. Campers will also visit cultural landmarks, historical sites, and museums in and out of Beijing.
Summer 2019 Trip to China
In late May, 10 high school and college students departed St. Louis for the journey
of a lifetime — two weeks in Beijing and Shanghai, China. Students experienced a land
of incredible contrast, one moment exploring a range of historic sites and scenic
spots in Beijing, from the Great Wall to the Forbidden City, and the next, sitting
aboard a train, flying along the rails at a speed of nearly 200 mph toward ultra-modern
high-rises of Shanghai. Students also had opportunities to engage in dialogue with
Chinese universities and other official organizations and take classes on Chinese
language and culture. Through their final project, they reflect upon their travels
and their growth as learners and global citizens. Check out the fun they had!
