Ron McGowan


Adjunct Professor of Collaborative Piano

Ron McGowan has a BA (cum laude) in Music History and Performance from Pomona College, Claremont and has studied with Peter Hewitt and Alan Boehmer in Los Angeles and with Stephen Sondheim in New York. Ron has returned to his hometown of St. Louis after thirty years in Los Angeles, where he served as an accompanist for singers including Joanna Gleason, Dale Kristien, Susan Egan, and John Raitt. He was resident accompanist for Musical Theater West, Fullerton Civic Light Opera, Remsen Bird Hillside Theater, South Coast Repertory Theater and the Pasadena Boys Choir and served as faculty instructor, staff accompanist and vocal coach for Cal State–Los Angeles, Occidental College, UC–Irvine, and Pomona College, Claremont.

Ron is currently a vocal coach for the Webster University Conservatory of Theater Arts and staff accompanist for the Webster University Department of Dance, as well as for the Center for Creative Arts (COCA) and Dance St. Louis. He also teaches piano at the Community Music School of Webster University and throughout the St. Louis area.
