Program Description
The Anthropology and Sociology minor provides students an appreciation for the diversity and complexity of human cultures. It equips students with the skills that complement careers in government, education, public health, community engagement, marketing, technology, and international affairs.
Learning Outcomes
Successful graduates of this program will be able to:
- Describe the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings and historical trends in the fields of anthropology and sociology.
- Examine and describe contemporary social problems/issues through anthropological and sociological approaches.
- Appreciate the diversity of human behaviors, beliefs, social structures and cultural belonging across diverse contexts.
Required Courses
- ANSO 1060 Introduction to Cultural Anthropology (3 hours)
or ANSO 1000 Introduction to Sociology (3 hours) - ANSO electives (15 hours)
6 hours are at 3000-level or above
