Scholarship FAQs
Many scholarships are automatically awarded when you receive your admission to Webster, with no separate application required.
However, some competitive scholarships may require a separate application. Each scholarship listing includes application instructions. Review the scholarship descriptions to confirm what is required.
Yes. Many Webster scholarships are stackable, meaning they can be combined with other Webster awards. However, two scholarships cannot be combined with any other Webster award:
- The Presidential Transfer Scholarship (full tuition)
- The Phi Theta Kappa Distinguished Achievement Scholarship (full tuition)
If you receive either of these full-tuition awards, it replaces any previous scholarship offer.
No, most Webster scholarships apply toward tuition only. Some Study Abroad scholarships may be applied toward housing, program fees or airfare.
Most automatically awarded scholarships renew each year as long as you remain enrolled full-time and meet the GPA requirements.
Please contact Financial Aid by email at financialaid@webster.edu or phone at 314-968-6992 to confirm your renewal.
Generally, no. Webster scholarships are considered institutional aid and are part of your overall financial aid package. In some cases, receiving additional scholarships may affect the composition of your aid package.
Please contact Financial Aid by email at financialaid@webster.edu or phone at 314-968-6992 to confirm the details of your financial aid package.
Yes, in most cases. Webster encourages students to pursue outside scholarships. However, if the combination of all aid exceeds the cost of attendance, your Webster scholarship may be adjusted.
If you have questions about Scholarships, please reach out to the Office of Financial Aid.

Not for all transfer scholarships. The Webster Academic Scholarship and N.E.X.T. Scholarship do not require an associate degree.
However, the Presidential Transfer Scholarship gives preference to students earning an associate degree, and the Phi Theta Kappa Distinguished Achievement Scholarship requires applicants to have completed or be a candidate for an associate degree through reverse transfer. Both also require recipients to enroll directly from a community college without intermediary enrollment at another four-year institution.
The N.E.X.T. (Network for Enrollment and Transfer) Scholarship is awarded to transfer students from articulation agreement schools who have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 at admission and remain in good academic standing. Recipients must be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours or more) per semester.
The scholarship provides $1,000 applicable to the first year of enrollment (two semesters as a full-time student). It may be combined with other Webster scholarships, except the full-tuition Presidential Transfer Scholarship and Phi Theta Kappa Distinguished Achievement Scholarship.
The Presidential Transfer Scholarship and Phi Theta Kappa Distinguished Achievement Scholarship both typically have a deadline in late spring. Your undergraduate application and admission must be completed prior to applying. Please review the details for The Presidential Transfer Scholarship and Phi Theta Kappa Distinguished Achievement Scholarship for specific information about deadlines and application requirements.
The A+ Scholarship has a recommended admission deadline of April 1, 2026. The N.E.X.T. Scholarship and Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship require eligibility to be reported before attendance.

Yes, but it depends on the scholarship. The Proud to Serve Scholarship ($1,000 per year) can be combined with other Webster scholarships. Military tuition reduction programs such as the USA Scholarship and First Responders Scholarship work differently.
