The Master of Science in Sustainability Management will help students understand the urgency and challenges in developing sustainable businesses. As a student in our Sustainability Management program, you’ll gain practical expertise through case studies, internships and dynamic projects integrated into the curriculum. These experiences will prepare you to solve pressing real-world sustainability challenges alongside industry partners. The program culminates in a comprehensive consulting project where you measure the sustainability performance of a real company and advise on its strategic direction.
Master Essential Knowledge and Strategies
The comprehensive curriculum covers the latest global policies, sustainable design methods and strategic leadership competencies required for organizational success. You'll learn to analyze and apply models like the Circular Economy and the triple bottom line (People, Planet, Profit) while evaluating trade-offs between financial and ESG issues. Graduates are equipped to critically audit sustainability performance, navigate regulatory frameworks (including EU laws) and formulate effective sustainability strategies for companies.
Optional Emphasis in Environmental Sustainability
You can choose to pursue an additional 9-12 credit emphasis offered by the Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. This emphasis gives you expertise in the basic scientific principles of ecology and how human systems integrate with natural systems. You'll also learn to review managerial and policy approaches to natural resource management and communicate energy-related legislation effectively.
