Evelina Jacinto Named to Jazz St. Louis All-Stars
Evelina Jacinto
The Community Music School is proud to celebrate one of its outstanding students, Evelina Jacinto (violin), who has been selected for the prestigious JazzU All-Star Group at Jazz St. Louis. This exceptional achievement recognizes Jacinto as one of the top young jazz musicians in the region.
The Jazz St. Louis All-Stars represents the pinnacle of the JazzU program, bringing together the most talented and dedicated students from across the area. As a member of this elite ensemble, Jacinto will serve as a cultural ambassador for Jazz St. Louis, performing at numerous community events throughout the year. The All-Stars also have the opportunity to collaborate with renowned professional jazz musicians at a special concert each June, providing invaluable performance experience and mentorship.
Jacinto's selection comes as no surprise to those who have followed her musical journey. For the past three years, she has been a dedicated violinist with the Young People's Symphonic Orchestra, demonstrating her classical musicianship and commitment to ensemble performance. Her passion for jazz has led her to pursue advanced study at Webster University, where she receives private instruction from Dr. Bennett Wood, Director of Jazz Studies.
Her time at CMS has been marked by extraordinary involvement across multiple programs, including String Ensemble, String Orchestra, the Young People's Concert Orchestra, the High School Jazz Ensemble and the Preparatory Program. This diverse experience has shaped her into a versatile and accomplished musician capable of excelling in both classical and jazz settings.
Jacinto's achievement reflects not only her individual talent and dedication but also the strength of CMS's commitment to nurturing young musicians across all genres. We look forward to seeing her grow as an artist and represent both CMS and Jazz St. Louis in the community.
Congratulations, Evelina, on this well-deserved honor!
