William Sanders has been part of the Community Music School (CMS) family for decades — first as a student, then as a parent, and now as one of our most dedicated supporters. That enduring connection was on full display at the season finale performances of both the YPCO and YPSO, where Sanders marked the occasion with a generous personal gift that will have a lasting impact on both ensembles.
Working alongside Harlan Percussion and Michael Faris, CMS Percussion Instructor and Director of the Young People's Orchestra Percussion, Sanders funded the purchase of two pairs of professional Zildjian crash cymbals — a meaningful addition to the orchestras' percussion resources.
Sanders and his late wife, René, have long shared a deep commitment to CMS and its students. Their investment over the years reflects a belief in the power of music education and a desire to see our programs thrive. This latest gift is a beautiful continuation of that legacy.
CMS is deeply grateful for William Sanders' continued generosity and partnership. It is because of supporters like him that our students enjoy a vibrant and enriching musical experience.
