YPSO Performs at Carnegie Hall During NYC Tour

YPSO on Carnegie Hall stage

The Community Music School’s Young People's Symphonic Orchestra (YPSO) recently completed a four-day trip to New York City, featuring a performance at Carnegie Hall.

From April 16-19, 101 students and 10 chaperones enjoyed both musical opportunities and cultural experiences in New York.

After arriving April 16, the orchestra settled into the Marriott Marquis in Times Square and had dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. The following day included visits to the Statue of Liberty and the 9/11 Memorial Pools. That evening, the musicians attended "Wicked" at the Gershwin Theatre after dinner at Ellen's Stardust Diner.

April 18 centered around their Carnegie Hall performance. The day began with sightseeing at Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center. Following  afternoon rehearsals and dinner at John's Pizzeria, YPSO performed at Carnegie Hall. The evening concluded with a reception at the hotel where parents and friends gathered to congratulate the musicians.

Months of dedicated practice and hard work paid off brilliantly for these talented young musicians. Standing on the same legendary stage where musical icons have performed for generations, the experience marked a triumphant milestone that will undoubtedly fuel their passion for music for years to come.
