At the Very Beginning
CMS offers group classes for infants through age 6 with their parents, grandparents, or other caregivers.
Kindermusik Classes
In every Kindermusik class, your child is welcomed into a playful and nurturing environment where they will sing, move, play instruments, and hear stories—all while developing social skills, problem-solving skills, pre-math skills, and a foundation for reading.
Music For Little Mozarts Group Piano Classes
Music for Little Mozarts is a great follow-up to our Kindermusik program, introducing kids ages 4 - 6 to the piano and preparing them for individual lessons.
Ready to Start
Young or old, weekly lessons one-on-one with an instructor are a great way to learn a new instrument or leap forward in your proficiency on your current instrument.
Individual Lessons
CMS offers private music lessons for all ages, levels, and abilities that prepare students to express themselves musically and acquire the skills necessary to successfully participate in ensembles, perform in public, and enjoy a lifelong love of music.
Suzuki String Program
In the Suzuki String Program, young children learn to play the violin, viola or cello the same way they learn to speak – by listening, imitating and repeating sounds.
Play with Friends
CMS has a sequential orchestra program ushering young musicians through multiple levels, enhancing students skills beyond individual performance and supporting the education process in school music programs.
String Ensemble
This beginning-level ensemble for strings emphasizes reading skills. Members must have a thorough knowledge of first position and familiarity with letter names of notes and show good left and right hand playing positions.
String Orchestra
This intermediate-level string ensemble emphasizes music reading skills, understanding of ensemble playing technique, and experience playing repertoire more advanced than String Ensemble repertoire.
Taking It to the Next Level
For students who may want to make music their career, CMS offers a college preparatory program “Prep” and opportunities for national recognition in composition with the Young Composers Competition.
Preparatory Program
The Preparatory Program (Prep) is a chamber music based program designed to augment the individual music study of exceptionally talented string, wind, and piano students who anticipate pursuing a career in music.
Young Composers Competition
Since 2004, the Young Composers Competition has recognized and encouraged the efforts of those between the ages of 12 and 21 who are involved in the creative process of composing music.
Never Stop Learning
With a summer session for individual lessons and fun summer camp programs, the music never stops at CMS. And the Explore Music program is a great way for the whole community to learn about various music traditions.
Summer Programs
There’s no summer slump at the CMS. In addition to a summer session of lessons, CMS has multiple camps and workshops during the summer to explore new skills and make great friends!
Explore Music!
Explore Music! was established to develop increased exposure to and experience with music of all cultures.
